Since the Wii is still a fairly new system, many people aren’t sure where they can find games and movies to download for the Nintendo Wii. We thought we would make it easy by showing you your major options.
Your first option is to look for websites that advertise having “free Wii downloads”. There are a few out there, however there are a few things you need to know before you hit that ‘download now’ button.
Unfortunately, there have been a number of these websites that have been shut down due to the fact that they were spreading viruses and spyware. These websites aren’t monitored whatsoever which makes it impossible to know exactly what you are downloading. Obviously this can put your computer at risk.
You will also find that these websites suffer from very slow download speeds. They also are full of files that are ‘corrupt’, meaning that they don’t work at all. It’s extremely annoying waiting over a day for something to finish downloading only to find out it doesn’t even work.
Although this option sounds great at first, it’s usually not worth it in the long-run. You run the risk of harming your computer and can waste a lot of time at the same time.
The second option has a lot of advantages over the first one. You can download Wii games without worrying about infecting your computer or slow download speeds.
There are companies that have built Nintendo Wii download membership websites that let you download games, movies, TV shows and music for your system when you sign up as a member. They charge a fee for becoming a member (about $50) and you can then login and download games and other files for your Wii whenever you want. The membership charge is your “registration” fee and then allow you to download as many free Wii downloads as you want.
The companies that put together these websites are obviously in the business to make a profit, so they make sure the websites have fast download speeds, the selection of games and movies is up-to-date and all of the files work and are virus free. It’s important that they keep their customers happy so that they continue to make money through new members.
